Are You waiting for the Government to take action?
On January 25, 2014, the President of the United States announced in his weekly address: “Taking Action to End Sexual Assault Prevention“. In this weekly address it is also a line stating that efforts has been taken to step up action to end sexual assault prevention during the past five years.
Isn’t this a job for the Police? We have to realize that our Police Force don’t have the manpower to do as much preventive work as they want. It is up to schools, parents and the rest of us to teach prevention and decency.
I am not waiting for the Government or any new Task Force to take action. We can start to reduce sexual assault right now, one person at the time. It involves education and protect resources. With your help we can start a mass movement to minimize new assaults and do not forget to aide and support people already assaulted. Too many times already assaulted people seems to be punished over and over again and the perpetrators get an easy out! As a society we must start right no to respect each other i a much more civilized and human way.
Are you waiting for the Government?
I am not. I remember President John F. Kennedy’s speech 1961 where he said “ask not why your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country”. I am sure you and I together can do much more to prevent any kind of crime including sexual assault prevention as well as defend ourselves indecency.
In a coming post I am going to bring up something very important missing in our President’s weekly address.
I will address another vulnerable group and what we can do to help.
See Ya soon,
